#3 still more bonus post

How have your thoughts about work, and your future work life, changed over the course of this class? As a result of your interview and research project?

Based on my research essay, I think work is important to all people, not only to those in the poor countries but also in the develop countries. A foreign worker needs to compete with the local graduates in order to succeed. Immigrant workers want to seek further knowledge and development to work in the first world country where technology is very advanced, the salary is higher, and more career opportunities. Migration improves individual chance of higher paying job with good working atmosphere. Most people from poor countries think that there's a better chance for them to improve their own lives and their families lives without thinking of the consequences of being away from home.

Squatting Toad and Topic #1 More bonus post

"You can't eat for 8 hours a day nor drink for 8 hours a day nor make love for 8 hours a day-all you can do for 8 hours is work. Which is the reason why man makes himself and everybody else so miserable and unhappy."
In my opinion, people can work for 8 hours a day in order earn money but can't afford to spend 8 hours in a day to be happy like eating ,drinking and making love. This makes everybody's life in misery. But sometimes working for 8 hours a day will give you money in order to buy food and clothing, pay bills and rent, and most of all let you buy things that you want which make people happy and satisfied.

I think most work requires emotional labor which makes it harder especially for women to handle. Be tough and don't allow an employer or a customer to abuse you. Stand for you rights, and remember the saying "there's no master if there's no slave."

Bonus Post

I heard that ther will be at least $600 increased for full time student. I don't know how it works for student who has less than 12 units. I think a lot of students will be affected with the tuition hike. Everyone needs to pay more. Regarding budget cut, i would say that there might be more students in one class, the library time maybe limited to accomodate students especially in using the computers, and also maybe the resources like books will be lessen.
If the tuition hike will be approved, being a student I have to cut things that are beyond my control. Since I can't cut the transportation cost because I heard that there will be .25 increase, maybe I will just cut or budget on foods and clothings which are under my control.

Moving from a poor country to a rich a country makes me a part of the global economy. To work and to earn more are the reasons why people moved. Working away from your home country to earn more can help a lot for the family. You can give your family more food to eat, clothes to wear and extra money for what they need and want. The bad part of it is that you are lonely, by being far from your family as what I read in the the essay of "love and gold". I short, people who moved to a rich country is to have a better paying job. In this way, I have the same situation with the people who were interviewed in the essay. I come here to earn more and to send money to my family in order for them to live a better life. On the other hand, I have to financially support for myself also.

Levine's story or poem tells us that work is not easy to get. One has to apply for it and to be hired. Sometimes, if you are lucky, you will be accepted but if not sorry. Then you need someone to be with you for emotional support. This relates to the book written by Ehrenreich, where people has to wait for a long period of time and after he/she will just be rejected.

I would say that my family background belongs to the middle class. My father had a regular work that can support the family. Although , my mother is not working, we have food on the table everyday and they can afford to send us to school. Being in the middle class, it means to me that I don't belong either to the rich or to the poor category. As long as I can go to school, eat, and buy what I need- that's the most important. I don't buy what I want as what the rich people does. I think being in the middle class, a person has to have a stable and regular job. While a working class, a person has no stable job but he/she works everyday.
